It’s always enjoyable to take a late summer vacation. The bulk of the season may have passed, but we know that the chill of fall and winter is coming, and, as such, we want to try and squeeze out as much fun as possible until we have to move indoors. Local talents

Want to see just how talented the residents of Red Deer can be? Then make sure you’re stopping Sweet Capone’s on the evening of September 13. They’ll be hosting a literary open mic called A Brave New World, where people can get up and share their writing, be it fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or whatever! Go and listen, or take your own work and read it aloud.

Looking for a souvenir to take home with you? You’ll find the perfect item at the Carnival Vendor Market, which will be taking place on September 20 at Carnival Cinemas. Head down a pick up a unique piece handcrafted by a Red Deer local -- it’ll be a delightful piece of memorabilia for your trip. 

A tribute to legends

You can’t see Pink Floyd, but you the next best thing! Canada’s Pink Floyd will be performing at Red Deer Memorial Centre on October 3. A must for the Floyd fans!
