Walk through history at this interactive museum at Fort Normandeau, where three cultures came together to create modern Central Alberta. Check out the Interpretive Centre featuring dramatic programs, artifacts and indoor/outdoor exhibits that celebrate First Nations, Metis and European cultures.
Central Alberta’s biggest summer event, Westerner Days at Westerner Park have everything a good fair needs: Midway rides, free entertainment, nightly Pony Chuck Wagon races and agricultural/arts shows and exhibits.
Come one, come all to best street festival in Central Alberta! Hit the pavement for incredible feats, amazing eats and energizing music for two days at the end of July every year in downtown Red Deer.
With deep roots in First Nations culture, Red Deer has a rich history to explore. The Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery features an impressive 85,000-piece collection of clothing, textiles and First Nations and Inuit art, as well as rotating travelling exhibits.
For a more interactive experience, Sunnybrook Farm Museum provides a unique look at Alberta farm life circa 1905, and even lets you milk a cow, feed the chickens and bake bread.
