Late Canadian winter means the temperatures keep dropping even as we near Spring. Snow piles up, people stay indoors and are bundled up from head to toe. However, the city of Red Deer is warming things up with fun events for the whole family. Don’t miss out on these events that’ll have the entire family up on their feet.

Brazilian Heat Warms Up Red Deer

Raise some funds while having fun on March 8! The Red Deer Kinette Club is hosting a fundraiser for the Red Deer Regional Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) called Rio Night: A Brazilian Carnival Themed Fun-raiser Party. The carnival is also put on with the support of the Red Deer Firefighters Children's Charity.

Rio night features samba dancing, capoeira, live-drumming and late night dancing with music provided by hometown acts, Brazilian Heat and DJ MoFlow. Carnival-goers can win auctions, raffles, and a prize for best dressed! Each $25 ticket comes with a delectable Caipirinha cocktail.

Calling All Capes and Crowns

The KCS association is hosting a Capes and Crowns ball on March 23, at the Sylvan Lake Community Hall.  Guests are encouraged to celebrate their favourite hero, heroine, prince or princess by dressing up in a stellar costume. The evening consists of a reception, photos with real heroes, professional photography and of course, dancing!

Kids can glam up with glitter tattoos and visit the craft table. While the kids are the stars of the evening, adults let loose and purchase a drink from the cash bar while perusing the silent auction.

After a night of tap, tapping your dancing shoes – kick back in Days Inn Red Deer, the intersection of comfort and luxury, without breaking the bank. Days Inn Red Deer’s location makes it the perfect home base, with convenient access to all major highways and outdoor attractions.
